Hello Staying Put members and friends
The Board of Directors of Staying Put in New Canaan is pleased to announce the election of four new members to our Board.
Margaret Jay
Margaret Jay (Peggy) is currently a board member of the New Canaan Beautification League (former Garden Center) and chairperson of the Lee House on Chichester Road. She is on the board of the Canaan Parish subsidized housing, a commissioned Stephen Minister of the Presbyterian Church, and Honorary Chair of the Annual Allan Jay Memorial Tennis Tournament. She established the Real Estate Information Center Inc., in town in 1988, and still works full time in her brokerage business.
Sue Scannell
Sue Scannell is on the board of the New Canaan Sewing Group and AAUW and volunteers with the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corp. A former teacher at St. Aloysius School, she substitutes there and is also a Eucharistic Minister at St. A's.
Priscilla Thomas
Priscilla Thomas moved to New Canaan several years ago to be near one of her five children. A pre-school teacher for 20 years, she has been an active volunteer in the Greenwich public schools, Greenwich Hospital Hospice, Junior League and the Old Greenwich Garden Club.
Cynthia Yates
Cynthia Yates has lived in New Canaan since 1971. She started volunteering at Staying Put about two years ago, driving for members which she has enjoyed. She worked part time for 20 years in the Headmaster's office at Brunswick school in Greenwich, has volunteered at New Canaan Cares and also has held many sports positions at Country Club of New Canaan including chairman of the woman's golf committee.
