Volunteers Deliver Safety Package to Staying Put Members
Volunteers Deliver Safety Package to Staying Put Members
Board Members Tracey Karl and Betsy Afragola; Barb Clayton, President of New Canaan Emergency Medical Services; and Anna and Johanna Holbrook
Twelve Staying Put volunteers helped prepare and deliver packages to 200 members this week. The packages included protective masks issued by the Town and a "File of Life" document. The File of Life lists valuable information, such as medications, medical conditions, allergies and emergency contacts.
Having the File easily accessible in your kitchen will help ensure the best possible care during a medical emergency. “When first responders are called to a home, their best work can be done if the resident has completed a File of Life,” says Barb Clayton, President of New Canaan Emergency Medical Services. "We encourage everyone to fill one out." To learn more, go to www.newcanaanems.org or call 203-966-7840.
